GLR
Ranch is a 32 1/2 well thought out equine facility. I had a
dream ever since I was little and made it happen with the help
of my parents and hard work. I found this place and it had
nothing on it which allowed me to be creative and put things
where I wanted them. This place is an equine mini paradise
located in the heart of Texas. I have 9 pastures of various
sizes all with adequate shelter. Beautiful rich coastal and
native grasses and trees. I designed a barn home that has 5
over sized stalls, one which is a octagon shaped 20X20 foaling
stall that was incorporated in the house with wrap around windows
for viewing from 5 different rooms. It is equipped with a climate
controlled feed room, tack room, wash rack, stocks and most
importantly a 100 foot alley way that is 15 to 25 feet wide
that has rubber pavers for the comfort of the animal and me!
If that wasn't enough it is attached to my dream home! The
place also has a round pen and an arena for training and riding.
Also for fun it has a 2 acre tank that is full of catfish and
perch along with some colorful koi.
I have always been an equine enthusiast and started taking lessons
when I was 7 years old. From there I got my first horse when I was
8 and still have him today at the age of 27 (27 in 2010). I have
shown since I was 8 and even started showing mules when I was 9 and
fell in love with them. I have always trained my own animals and
enjoy teaching others that really want to learn. I have had everything
from half arab, mules, apps, paints, belgians, thoroughbreds all
the way to miniature donkeys which now is my main focus and love!
I still enjoy racing thoroughbreds and breeding mares and having
foals and raising and training them BUT the mini donkeys are truly
special in every way. They are very intelligent which test your training
skills, which makes it that much better when you achieve them and
they are the most loving of them all.
I will constantly be building a herd and buying and selling minis
to get the results that I want. It takes patience and knowledge to
achieve this; I think my horse background and being around mules
my whole life will only help. I have already seen great results in
the show ring and am that much more addicted!
The long-term goal is to breed quality over quantity and to really
pay attention to correct conformation that only insures a healthier
longer life with better way of moving towards performance. Also a
good disposition is a must.
